Have you ever turned on a space heater before, but been disappointed by the heat that it was able to produce? Many space heaters these days are only designed to effectively heat around 50-100 square feet. That’s great for a bathroom, but not the family room. The Dr. Infrared Portable Space Heater is designed with your larger rooms in mind. With an electronic thermostat range of 50-86 degrees, you’ll receive 1,500 watts of heat through infrared heating that is very effective.

What Are the Features of the Dr. Infrared Portable Space Heater?

Although most space heaters of this size are difficult to move around, that’s not the case with the Dr. Infrared Portable Space Heater. The design of the cabinet includes useful castors so that you can push this heater from room to room as you move about the house. In a pinch, you could still pick up this heater since it weighs 24 pounds, so no matter what you can take it to where you need to go.

This portable space heater also includes these additional features which may be of use within your household.

  • It offers an automatic energy saving setup with high and low heat features that include overheating protection and tip-over protection.
  • It features a dual heating system that features an infrared quartz tube and PTC, along with a 12 hour automatic shut-off timer.
  • It also includes a remote control option so that you can make changes from across the room without ever needing to touch the heater.

With a decibel rating of under 40 dB, you won’t have to worry about noise with this portable space heater operating either. You just get quiet, simple heat on a cold day when you need it the most from a reliable heater.

Key Points to Consider With the Dr. Infrared Portable Space Heater

The primary issue to consider with this particular space heater is its placement. It can work on carpet, but we found carpeted floors tend to cause more lint to get caught up in the heater’s filter. Linoleum, hardwood, and tile floors all worked well in combination with this space heater.

Although this is an infrared heater, it’s not a radiant heater. There’s a blower included with this model that helps to distribute the heat rather effectively to the room. This means it heats up rather quickly, even if you have the heater on the lowest setting.

We did find that the heater tends to cycle a bit if you have it on the high setting with the thermostat set in the 70-75 degree range. If you keep it on the lower setting or set the heater to around 80, this issue tends to go away.

If you need to have a larger room heated, then we highly recommend giving the Dr. Infrared Portable Space Heater a look today. It’s convenient, portable, and provides you with a maximum level of heat so your entire family can stay comfortable all year long.
